Armin Strom has just announced their first tourbillon with a micro-rotor that supplies the power. A magnificent combination! The micro-rotor is often considered the pinnacle of automatic winding and the tourbillon is the pinnacle of regulating organs. The Armin Strom Tourbillon Gravity Fire comes in an 18ct rose gold case, as limited edition of 50 pieces.
Armin Strom watches are easy to recognize in a crowd, for they always feature certain characteristic design elements. Like the typical bezel, the lack of a full/closed dial, and the shape of the bridge that is visible from the dial side. Similar for their newest offering. The entire movement is designed, developed and manufactured in-house and so is the regulating organ: the tourbillon. The tourbillon is functions as an off-center second hand. Also visible on the dial side are the main spring barrel (top right) and the micro-rotor (lower right side), both of which are held in place by the c-shaped bridge (visible from the front) and the main plate.
This Armin Strom is powered by a new movement, calibre ATM13. This new tourbillon & microrotor movement offers 110 hours of autonomy when fully wound and ticks at a pace of 18,000 vibrations per hour (3Hz). The Tourbillon Gravity Fire comes in a 18ct rose gold case that measures 43.40 mm in diameter and 13.00 mm in height. Sapphire crystals on both sides are treated with anti-reflective material.
