Audemars Piguet has unveiled the Neo Frame Jumping Hour, a rectangular timepiece inspired by the Streamline Moderne design language of the late 1920s and early 1930s.

The watch takes clear cues from the historic pre-model 1271, a rare rectangular jumping-hour piece produced in extremely limited numbers between 1929 and 1930. Its defining elements—vertical gadroons, elongated case proportions, and a dual-aperture time display—are thoughtfully reinterpreted in this modern version, blending vintage character with contemporary standards of durability and everyday wearability.

The case measures 34 mm by 34 mm and is crafted from 18-carat pink gold, with a total thickness of just 8.8 mm.

Its refined, slim profile accentuates the elegance of the rectangular design while offering comfortable wear for everyday use.

Eight vertical gadroons run along each side of the case, flowing seamlessly into pointed lugs that emphasize the watch’s sleek, streamlined silhouette.

This CNC-machined fluted pattern extends across the caseback, crown, and oscillating weight, demanding precise alignment of each component to maintain perfect visual harmony.

A black PVD-treated sapphire crystal forms the dial, underscoring the watch’s minimalist aesthetic while introducing a technically sophisticated construction.

Two gold-framed apertures reveal the jumping hours and trailing minutes, with crisp white numerals set against a deep black background for optimal legibility.

The Audemars Piguet signature appears at 6 o’clock in pink gold tones. Unlike historical versions that used metal dials beneath framed crystals, the Neo Frame leaves the sapphire exposed at both 12 and 6 o’clock, adding a contemporary architectural touch.

To ensure water resistance to 20 metres (66 feet), the sapphire is bonded to the dial plate and then secured into the case with screws—a solution developed specifically for this model.

Driving the display is the new selfwinding Calibre 7122, Audemars Piguet’s first automatic jumping-hour movement. Fully developed in-house and based on Calibre 7121, it pairs an instantaneous jumping hour with a trailing minute display for precise and dynamic timekeeping.

Beating at 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour), the movement delivers a power reserve of 52 hours.

A patented shock-absorbing system prevents unintended hour jumps in the event of impact, while the hour disc is made from titanium and the minute disc from aluminium to minimize inertia.

Visible through the sapphire caseback, the movement is finished to Haute Horlogerie standards, showcasing Côtes de Genève, satin brushing, and a dedicated pink gold oscillating weight adorned with matching fluted decoration.

Completing the timepiece is a black calfskin leather strap featuring a textured motif developed by Audemars Piguet’s design team. The strap integrates seamlessly with the case, meeting the sapphire crystal between the lugs, and is secured by an 18-carat pink gold AP folding clasp.

The Audemars Piguet Neo Frame Jumping Hour, reference 15245OR.OO.A206VE.01, is priced at approximately SGD 95,500.
