Armin Strom Dual Time GMT Resonance shines in Rose Gold

Armin Strom presents a refined new take on its Dual Time GMT Resonance, now rendered in the rich warmth of rose gold.

The signature architecture is elevated by the striking interplay between the rose gold case and the black grenage dial, creating a sophisticated and balanced aesthetic.

Polished rose gold hands and applied indexes, paired with snailed chapter rings featuring polished baton markers that mirror the faceted hands, bring added depth, texture, and harmony to the overall design.

Limited to just 50 pieces, the Dual Time GMT Resonance Rose Gold succeeds the First Edition in white gold and last year’s Black Edition in stainless steel.

Like its predecessors, the 39 mm × 9.05 mm case showcases a refined interplay of satin-brushed and polished finishes that accentuate its contours, while the slender bezel maximises the opening for the mesmerising dial.

At its core beats the hand-wound manufacture calibre ARF22, conceived, engineered, and produced entirely in-house by Armin Strom.

The movement features two independent oscillators that synchronise in anti-phase through the natural phenomenon of resonance, improving timekeeping precision. During this process, the oscillating systems exchange vibrational energy, subtly regulating and stabilising each other’s rate.

Armin Strom has further advanced this principle in watchmaking by connecting the twin balance wheels with a pulsating clutch spring, allowing vibrations to pass efficiently between them and ensuring both oscillators beat in perfect synchrony.

Beating at 3.5 Hz (25,200 vibrations per hour), the movement is equipped with twin mainspring barrels that provide a 42-hour power reserve.

Wound through the crown positioned at 4 o’clock, the calibre employs two independent gear trains, allowing each time zone display to be driven separately with precision and stability.

Beneath the anti-reflective sapphire crystal, the twin balance wheels and the rhythmic pulsation of the clutch spring are fully visible on the dial side, their perfectly synchronised motion creating a captivating mechanical display.

Unlike most dual time zone watches — which typically permit only independent hour adjustments, and only occasionally half-hour increments — the Armin Strom Dual Time GMT Resonance provides truly independent time-setting, allowing each display to be adjusted with complete autonomy and precision.

Both the hours and minutes can be independently adjusted on each of the two dials, offering true flexibility for global travellers who require precise local time in multiple regions.

Positioned at 6 o’clock on each dial, the engraved and mirror-polished sun and moon indicators are mounted on 24-hour wheels directly integrated into the movement. Beyond providing a practical day/night reference, they add a subtle layer of refinement to the overall composition, underscoring Armin Strom’s attention to both function and detail.

Viewed through the transparent sapphire crystal caseback, additional details of the 231-component movement are revealed in full mechanical clarity.

The calibre’s perfectly balanced construction is highlighted by the mirrored layout of its openworked bridges and gear trains, reinforcing the visual harmony and technical elegance characteristic of Armin Strom.

The engraved main plate highlights the defining features of the Mirrored Force Resonance through finely raised inscriptions, adding both technical character and visual depth.

At the same time, the two skeletonised mainspring barrels are visible in motion, winding in unison — a refined mechanical display that reflects Armin Strom’s dedication to symmetry and precision.

The movement is finished in the finest Haute Horlogerie tradition, featuring hand-polished bevels, screws, and countersinks, complemented by circular graining, perlage, and Geneva stripes that highlight the artistry of its construction.

Matched with an anthracite alligator leather strap accented by grey stitching and fastened with an 18K rose gold pin buckle, the Armin Strom Dual Time GMT Resonance Rose Gold (ref. RG25.DT.75) is limited to 50 pieces worldwide and priced at SGD 172,500.
